Pixie Dust Studio’s Favorite Blog Hop

If you’ve arrived from Lelia, you’re in the right place! If not, consider starting at the beginning; Pixie Dust Studio.

There’s a beautiful new release today, it’s called Pixie’s Favorite Things!

The wonderful Kathy is also giving away ALL of Pixie’s Favorite Things! You can check out Kathy’s giveaway here: Kathy’s Giveaway, and trust me, you wont want to miss it!

I’ve colored a few images, but only had time to put one card together. It’s been so long since I’ve done any crafting, I’m finding it difficult to pick it back up again. Life has changed, so incredibly much and I miss my hobby, and friends!

I created this card using Pro and FlexMarkers from Letraset. The ribbon is from some flowers I received from my hubby, but it’s just gingham, with a little wire in it, my favorite! I used my Spellbinder Dies (of course) along side my Papertrey Ink banner die so I could write “what’s poppin’?” I thought it was a perfect sentiment for this card!

And just to let you know, there IS a Design Team call at this time. If you’re interested in joining the Pixie Dust Studio Design Team you can get all the deets over HERE.

I’m actually the last stop on the hop. Make sure you check out Kathy’s giveaway and the Design Team call.

If you aren’t familiar with digital images or how to use them, check out this quick tutorial I did on laying out your images in Word, and how to use Word to print your digital images. And if you click on the video, it’ll take you to my YouTube channel where you can see all sorts of tutorial videos. đŸ™‚

Thanks for hopping along with us at Pixie Dust Studio!

Pixie Dust Studio *RELEASE* and sketch challenge.

This week on the Pixie Dust Studio challenge blog, there’s a sketch challenge. I admit, I don’t really care for sketches. I always spend way more time on them than necessary, and I typically get frustrated. Needless to say, the challenge has become a real challenge for me, but, I think I did… okay!

So here’s the sketch:

And here’s my card:

I thought this paper was PERFECT for this image. It’s so cute, isn’t it? This image is part of the NEW RELEASE! (The paper is Cotton Tail by We R Memory Keepers.)

Isn’t the new collection adorable? It’s available NOW! Saturday on my blog, I’ll feature these two cards… one for a sweet little guy, and another for a beautiful little girl!

Happy, it’s almost Friday!

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge 116: Buttons (NEW RELEASE!)

Hello friends and happy Thursday!! Today at Pixie Dust Studio the challenge is to use buttons. Something I certainly don’t use very often!

The felt sun is from Wendy Hammer. It’s from her Sky High Felt Embellishments kit. I used my Lindy’s Stamp Gang starburst stains to add some color and sparkle to the yellow part of the sun. Then I used the cloud die from Papertrey Ink to cut a piece of felt. I colored the felt cloud with Baby Blue Eyes Aqua.

The paper is a combination of scraps I had in my drawer… some Cosmo Cricket, Pink Paislee and Bella Blvd.

The digi stamp is from Pixie Dust Studio and is called Swimming Dolly. She’s adorable! And she has a “brother” to match who is equally adorable!! I used a combination of Flex and Pro Markers from Letraset to color Dolly. I used: primrose, sapphire, canary, lime green, bright green, vermillion, sunflower, lemon, auburn, nutmeg, almond, walnut, blush, linen and cool grey 4. I did a lot of tip to tip blending on this image so the colors wouldn’t be so bright. Although I LOVE bright colors, I wanted more of a watered down look, something that wasn’t so solid. If that makes sense. Have I mentioned I LOVE LOVE LOVE the tip to tip blending method with these markers! I love the results.

Anyways, there’s a new release this week at Pixie Dust Studio. The new collection is called Breeze!

I’ll announce the winner of the Letraset FlexMarkers tomorrow, with a video tutorial!

PDS115 & Letraset (FlexMarker) giveaway!

The challenge this week, at Pixie Dust Studio, is to case an old card. So I went through some of my older PDS cards, and found one that inspired me!

Picked a color combination…

And created this:

Somewhere along the lines, I lost the blue… but, I loved the green and orange together!

I used Pixi Lilly for this card. You can get her as a free digi download from Kathy HERE. She’ll be perfect to use for this weeks challenge!

Instead of using copics, I’ve been using FlexMarkers (and a few ProMarkers as well). So, for this image, I used several different colors, which are photographed below. If you’re not able to read my writing, please feel free to email me! jessica@canyoupixelthis.com

The letters next to each (P/F) just indicate if it was a ProMarker or FlexMarker that I’ve used. I’ve done a rather sloppy review of the markers, which include information about a giveaway. đŸ™‚

Letraset has kindly donated one set of 12 FlexMarkers to one of my blog followers! I’m going to sweeten the deal by offering an additional set of 12 FlexMarkers to one of my TWITTER followers!

I have a video, that will take another 2 hours to upload, but, once it’s live, I’ll edit this post to add in the video.  The video is now live! In the meantime, follow on my blog, and follow on Twitter for your chance to win! Winners will be contacted by March 1st.

Happy Thursday friends!

I’ve added this card to the following challenges:
Phindy’s Place Challenge #93: Bling it up!
Moving Along With The Times: Lots of layers!
Stamp and Create: Valentine’s and Love.
Sarah Hurley Challenge: Die Cuts!
Paperplay Challenges: For a female relative!
Delightful Sketches: Use pattern paper.
Cute Card Thursday: Winged Things.

Pixie Dust Studio ‘dot’ Challenge

This week the challenge over at Pixie Dust Studio blog is to use polka dots!

-If you’re looking for the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog hop click HERE.-
-If you’re looking for my Next Day Flyers giveaway click HERE.-

I love this sweet little girl from the new love collection. The image is Pixie Dust Studio and is called Heart Garden.

I took a piece of pattern paper and stamped it using VersaMark and Basic Grey’s Life Of The Party Dots. The sentiment, “Picture Perfect” is from Unity Stamp Company’s November kit of the month. (My FAVORITE kit, by far.) I used VersaFine (Onyx Black) to stamp the sentiment.

And here are the colors I used… sorry for the blurry picture.

Make sure you hop on over to the Pixie Dust Studio blog to play along with this weeks ‘dot’ challenge!

Pixie Dust Studio Twilight blog hop!

Good morning! I hope you’re ready, and excited for this Pixie Dust Studio TWILIGHT blog hop! If you’ve come to my blog from Tanya’s, you’re in the right place, if not, please go back to Pixie Dust Studio’s challenge blog!

I’m really afraid to say that I have never read a Twilight book, (eeeep!) watched a Twilight movie, nor do I know anything about Twilight. I mean, of course, I know it’s vampire related… I think? The point is I have no idea who Renesemee is, BUT, I LOVE her hair, and her sweet little outfit. I thought she was adorable. So please do not confuse my using this image as picking sides for any one person over another! I love all the IMAGES equally!! đŸ™‚

Now, I’m sure the skin color is a bit darker than that of a Vampire, but, is Renesemee a vampire?! Image is Renesemee, and can be found at Pixie Dust Studio.

Can anyone tell me what Renesemee is holding? (And who she is!!)

Skin: E11/E13.
Hair: E70/E74/E77.
Dress: R21/R24/R29/R37.
Shoes: C3/C5.
Grass: YG61/YG67.
Sky/background: BG0000/BG10/BG11.

Now, you know, NO blog hop is complete with out a prize! So… two random winners will win three images of your choice! While one lucky person will win their choice of a PIXIE PACK!

The grand prize will be awarded to the person who plays along with the Twilight challenge. The challenge will close Wednesday 11/23 at noon. The other two prizes will be awarded to those who have completed the blog hop, and leave a comment on the Pixie Dust Studio blog. NOT THE CHALLENGE BLOG. Comments will close Saturday the 19th at noon.

Now, if you’ll hop on over to Laura, I’m sure she’ll have something amazing for you!

It’s a Pixie style Birthday!

This week at Pixie Dust Studio, the challenge is “Happy birthday!”

(source)

I decided to do something a little different this week. I really love color. If owning every Copic marker isn’t proof enough, try working for a company whose focus is… COLOR! After downloading ColorSchemer (FREE!!) for my iPhone, I started using color palettes on a daily basis. I like to color something, and put the colors together in a palette so I can see what they look like. Sometimes I’m really impressed, other times, not so much!

This is a palette I really loved, and I thought some of my crafty friends may enjoy it as well. I created this template for you to use if you decide to use my color palette. You can save the template to your computer by dragging and dropping it to your desktop, right clicking and saving, or, emailing me!

Pixies_Birthday!

Once you get the palette and create your project, simply add your photo on top of the text. The template is 500X455. One horizontal photo will fit beautifully, or two vertical photos. Here’s my example: (and my project for the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge.)

And here’s a detail shot of my card.

I’d love to see what you create with this palette! Feel free to share it here…

I’ll be back tonight with a post for Totally Stampalicious.

In the mean time, check out Kirbi Fagan.

Kirbi illustrated a set of birthday cards, and she’s giving some away!
You can check out her blog for more details.

Pixie Dust Studio: Anything But A Card.

Good morning! đŸ™‚

Today, over at PDS, the challenge is anything but a card. I’m pretty excited about this challenge, though my project isn’t as exciting as the other ladies!

I got this die from Sizzix awhile ago. It’s called “box with scallop flap and flowers.” I just cut a piece of paper this time. Next time I’ll be using a cereal box! (My favorite thing to recycle!)

Now go check out the rest of the design teams creations at the Pixie Challenge blog.

Please join me tomorrow for a very special project, some gorgeous cards… and…

Operation Julie’s Smile.

I= I love ornaments!

As you read this, my family and I are on our way to court. We’re going to finalize the adoption we’ve been working on for nearly 18 months now. I’m looking forward to the process being over, and being able to move forward! We’ve been very fortunate to have the support of good friends.

As I mentioned yesterday, Kathy of Pixie Dust Studio is doing something exciting this month. Over the next few days, she’ll be releasing a new digital stamp each Monday-Friday.

The image is available now at Pixie Dust Studio.

I used my Copics this time. đŸ™‚ I’m much happier with the results (but, I’ll still give the pencils a fair run)! I also used my Spica’s and Crystal Lacquer!

Copics: N0, N1, N3, YG61, YG63, YG67, R29, R32, R35, R37 R81, R85, RV0000BG000, BG11, BG13, E41, E43, E44

Mirrors: Unity Stamp Co. November 2010 kit of the month.
