Ballerina birthday!

Today, I wanted to share a card I made for my sister for her 21st birthday! I’m really excited to give it to her! I know she’ll love it!

The Pink Elephant Challenge #139

I loved The Pink Elephant’s challenge photo inspiration here- the pinks and pastels especially. I immediately thought of Webster’s Pages Sunday Picnic.

I used the Dainty Dancing image from Lili Of The Valley. I colored her with Pro and FlexMarkers. I used:

Face: Almond, Pastel Pink and Blush
Hair: Almond, Walnut, and Auburn
Leotard/Slippers: Shocking Pink, Watermelon, Pale Pink and blender

To color the felt star, I used Lindy’s Stamp Gang Yellow Rose of Texas. To color the banner I used my Watermelon FlexMarker. To add some sparkle, I used my Cotton Candy Pink Starburst Stain. (You’ll see the shimmer better in the photo below.) To add some sparkle to the leotard and slippers I used Lindy’s Stamp Gang’s magicals in Hottie Patottie Hot Pink. (It is also available in a spray HERE.) To color the stars, I used the Yellow Rose of Texas magicals, also available in a spray, linked above.

I used the double ended banner die from Papertrey Ink. I used Spellbinders stars fiveclassic oval large Nestabilities, and lacey ovals.

The video below shows you how I’ve used Lindy’s Stamp Gang, magicals to add minor details to really finish off the card. In the video I use a Stampin’ Up! blender pen, which can be purchased from any Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.

Added to the following challenges:

The Pink Elephant: #139 photo inspiration.
Simon Says Stamp: anything goes.
Oh La La Challenge Blog: #100 on the move.
Stamping Scrapping: the use of pastels.
There’s Magic In The Air: children’s birthday.

For this card I used Mandy the Ballerina from the set Daddy’s Princess.

Since I have little ones, I wanted to gear my cards more towards a child so they could be Valentine’s Day cards! My youngest daughter will love the butterflies and sentiment on the second card, while my oldest daughter will love the elegance of the first card!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my cards! If you hop on over to Dawn Thomas, I’m sure she’ll have something incredibly amazing for you!! Don’t forget to leave a comment so you can become eligible for the G.R.A.N.D. P.R.I.Z.E!

SSD Sketch Challenge

Today, over at Skipping Stones Design, the sketch is a little more challenging than usual!

I knew I wanted to use Funny Coffee Volume 1. But, with the sketch… I wasn’t sure how to incorporate the two. So I put my ‘thinking cap’ on and came up with this!

I used my Copics to call the fuzzy bunny slippers, and the bathrobe. A little glitter to make her look like less of a mess! I dripped some Tim Holtz distress ink across the top of the card so it would look as though I spilled some coffee!

Hope you’ve enjoyed my card! Happy Tuesday friends!

Totally Stampalicious: 3D

This week at Totally Stampalicious, the challenge is to create something three dimensional. They are also running a really great sale, check out Totally Stampalicious for all the details! Going to keep it short tonight, my son is having a terrible time sleeping lately. 😦

Totally Stampalicious!

Here’s the photo on the TS blog…

And here are the bigger photos…

Box: Accucut Gable Box.
I can’t help but love this little guy, Deacon Elf! I love coloring him!

The tag, that reads “Love Santa” was created digitally, using Holiday Magic, which is available at Jessica Sprague. (Really exciting news: Pink Paislee is coming to Jessica Sprague!!) So you’ll be able to purchase the papers and embellishments digitally! HOW exciting!? More exciting news to follow… November 21st!

Okay, off to cuddle my little guy. These nightmares have got to go! Happy Monday friends! (Two more blog hops this week, just a heads up, one on Tuesday, another Thursday… hope you’re not hopped out! Okay, really now, I’m going.)
