Ballerina birthday!

Today, I wanted to share a card I made for my sister for her 21st birthday! I’m really excited to give it to her! I know she’ll love it!

The Pink Elephant Challenge #139

I loved The Pink Elephant’s challenge photo inspiration here- the pinks and pastels especially. I immediately thought of Webster’s Pages Sunday Picnic.

I used the Dainty Dancing image from Lili Of The Valley. I colored her with Pro and FlexMarkers. I used:

Face: Almond, Pastel Pink and Blush
Hair: Almond, Walnut, and Auburn
Leotard/Slippers: Shocking Pink, Watermelon, Pale Pink and blender

To color the felt star, I used Lindy’s Stamp Gang Yellow Rose of Texas. To color the banner I used my Watermelon FlexMarker. To add some sparkle, I used my Cotton Candy Pink Starburst Stain. (You’ll see the shimmer better in the photo below.) To add some sparkle to the leotard and slippers I used Lindy’s Stamp Gang’s magicals in Hottie Patottie Hot Pink. (It is also available in a spray HERE.) To color the stars, I used the Yellow Rose of Texas magicals, also available in a spray, linked above.

I used the double ended banner die from Papertrey Ink. I used Spellbinders stars fiveclassic oval large Nestabilities, and lacey ovals.

The video below shows you how I’ve used Lindy’s Stamp Gang, magicals to add minor details to really finish off the card. In the video I use a Stampin’ Up! blender pen, which can be purchased from any Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.

Added to the following challenges:

The Pink Elephant: #139 photo inspiration.
Simon Says Stamp: anything goes.
Oh La La Challenge Blog: #100 on the move.
Stamping Scrapping: the use of pastels.
There’s Magic In The Air: children’s birthday.

So the reason you’re here today… Julie Ranae.

Julie Ranae has had some pretty major dental surgeries in her lifetime due to medication she took as a child.  It was in her plans to have all of her teeth  replaced at some point over the next 5 years, a decision that was pretty easy to plan out.  But last month she chipped her two front teeth. The dentist told her there was no way to save them and his recommendation was to have them remove all of her teeth, and soon. But for that day, they needed to remove her front teeth so her gums could begin to heal.  Julie needs at least $4000 to get started and another $3000 to finish the process…a total of $7000.

That’s when the owner of Sweet Stamp Shop put together this benefit. It is the goal of all these generous friends and sponsors to help make this situation more do-able for Julie so that she can share a brand new smile with all of us soon!

If there is anything you can do to help with a financial donation, you will be eligible for prizes from our sponsor pool of over $2500. Any amount is greatly appreciated.

If you’d like to donate something to help Julie, just click on the “donate” button below.

If you’ve left me a comment, you can hop on over to Eva Dobilas now! 🙂

Just because I’m so happy the Tigers won
…and will be playing the Rangers
I’m going to give away two more Copic classes!
One to one of my email subscribers,
the other to a FaceBook “fan”.
I’ll announce the winners October 15th.
Remember, you don’t have to be local, to win!
(This giveaway is COMPLETELY separate from Operation Julie’s Smile)

Papertrey Ink September Blog Hop

The September Papertrey Ink challenge is photo based.

I love the lines, and the colors. For my first card, I made something based on the colors. I used a digital stamp from The Stamping Boutique called Autumn Fashion Boots. The sentiment is from Falling Leaves.

I covered the image with Crystal Lacquer after I colored it.

The background is actually a piece of felt, that was colored using Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst Stains! We (my girls and I) used three different colors, Azure Sea Asters, Tiger Lily Red Orange and Autumn Maple Crimson.

For the card below, I used the Chevron Stripes to create a background. I loved the way the lines in the challenge photo went horizontal and vertical.  So, I wanted to recreate that same pattern.

For the sentiment I used Wildflower Garden.

Happy Halloween

I’ve been making a lot of cards lately. After creating the “we moved” card last week, I thought, why not make a hybrid card? I’m pretty happy with the way this turned out!

So, this is what I made on the computer…

I used Jessica Sprague: Echo Park Apothecary.
I colored an image from The Stamping Boutique called Witches Laundry Line.

Copics:
YG13, 17, 61, 67
E41, 43, 44, 57
BG70, 72
N1, 2, 3, 6, 9
V09, 25
YR12, 16
Spica in green, purple and black.

This is the fun part… I created some bling using Glitter Glass! I used a jewelry finding from Sakura. Then I filled the bottom of the jewelry finding with Crystal Lacquer. I sprinkled in some of the Glitter Glass, and then topped it off with some more Crystal Lacquer. I let it sit overnight before tying it onto my card.
I also added some Crystal Lacquer to the “O” (pumpkin). It gives it some dimension and a really nice finish!

I love using Crystal Lacquer on my cards. There are several others I’ve used the lacquer on… here are a few…

We have some storms rolling through, I couldn’t be happier! FINALLY… RAIN!! YAY!! Happy (late) Sunday!!

.Echo Park Country Drive Cards.

Good morning! I have three cards for you today. They were all fairly simple, and could easily be recreated. These are all hybrid cards. Meaning, I used Echo Park’s digital papers from Jessica Sprague and I printed them here at home. I use an Epson Artisan 800 which has been discontinued and replaced with the 810 (I believe). I love digital paper! If October Afternoon went digital, I would never buy paper again!

Each photo is clickable, so you can see the photo larger. Also, the details for the products I used to create each card can be found below the card itself.
