ScrapTiffany Blog Hop!

Hey guys! Hope everyone is doing well. While you’re all hopping, I’ll be working at the Great American Scrapbook Convention. It’s really not as bad as it sounds, I’ve been hanging out with Sue and Frank Coccia of Earth Art International, Tim Holtz, of… well… like I need to tell you! The folks over at Tattered Angels, they’re a riot as usual. I’m really sad I can’t be home hopping with you! 😉

If you’re coming from somewhere other than Sheri, please start at the beginning, I don’t want you to miss out on the fabulous projects you’re about to see!

I hope you’ll enjoy my project, it’s not quite finished yet, but, I’ve done a video to show you what I’m working on! I absolutely LOVE cereal boxes. Nutra Grain Bar boxes (the folks at Tattered Angels will attest to this), any kind of any box I can cut apart really.

Anyways, this is what I’ve done… there are no words to go along with the video, just a fun loving song. 🙂

Another thing I love doing is making embellishments or jewelry out of magazines, wrapping paper, postcards, packaging, etc. Here’s one I made, using a scrap piece of paper.

Another fun thing I do, recycle soup cans! (Well, ravioli in this case!) I did this on the computer, using photoshop, and ScrapArtist’s Art In The Box.

Phew, okay, I think that might be it! 🙂

Oh… no… did I mention, DVD cases are the PERFECT size for 5X7 photos? PERFECT for mailing to family members who may live out of state! Check out THIS post on my OLD blog… there is an “instant” freebie there for ya!

Now, if you’ll hop on over to Ana, I’m sure she’ll have something wonderfully recycled for you!!

PS: I’m going to pick an email from one of my subscribers to win a custom made necklace! If you’ve already subscribed to my posts, just leave a comment, and tell me you’d like to win! (If you need some help with subscribing, check this out… ) Tuesday, I’ll do a step by step tutorial so you can make one of your own at home!

ScrapArtist Door Hanger

To create this door hanger I used: Message by Kate Hadfield and Eclectic Designs by Gabi. And Gotcha by Aja Abney.

Message:
Doodle Strip #2
Pattern Paper #06
Wordart
Swirl Stitch #4

Gotcha:
Clock

I started out by making a template for the door hanger. Measuring 4.5″X10″.

I used PP06 as the background paper.

I used the magnetic lasso to cut out the image of my son. Then I changed the opacity to 60%

I added a new layer; Doodle Strip #2, and changed it from Normal to Luminosity.

I added a new layer; Wordart “We do not remember days; we remember moments.”

I added a new layer; Swirl Stitch #4 and changed the opacity to 80%

I added a new layer; Clock, and changed the opacity to 30%

That’s it! Print, cut, and hang!

Optional: I mounted my door hanger to chipboard and sanded the edges.

Subscribe to my blog posts, and I’ll email you the door hanger template! Nothing like bribery at it’s finest! 😉

.coupon organizer.

My gramma, bless her heart (such the Texas thing to say!), sends  me packages of coupons every two weeks. I have coupons coming out my ears. You laugh, but my gramma saved us $150 on our last shopping trip. We don’t normally shop like that, but our fridge quit working, and we had to restock it.

Anyways, I don’t like the plain coupon books, so I picked up this fancy little thing from ScrapArtist. When you buy the kit from ScrapArtist, you get full color, step by step instructions to print AND put together.

I printed the pages and put it together, the whole process took no more than an hour. That includes printing all the beautiful pages! (Yes you can print digital pages and use them as you would a regular piece of scrap paper!) *EDITED TO ADD: There are pockets on each page! In the event it’s not obvious! 🙂

Check it out, let me know what you think. And remember, only a few more days till the banner give away!
