AiDT Reunion Blog Hop + Ai Spinners Release

Ai Reunion-1

Hi! Welcome to the reunion blog hop for Art Impressions! You should have arrived from Isha Gupta‘s blog. If this is your first stop, please start at the beginning, you won’t want to miss out on the awesome inspiration and prizes!

Spinner Graphic

Today I’ve used 4679 – Witch Spinner & 4698 – Witch Spinner Dies to create this little treat bag for a Halloween party! I want to tell you what I used to color my image, however, I’m more curious to know what you THINK I used. Being a certified Copic Instructor, you would likely guess Copics, however, I actually used Sharpies! I used yellow, orange, red, purple, green, brown and silver. I used Glue Lines to adhere the bling to the bag and Pop-Up Glue Dots to adhere the rosette, the Witch from Ai and the banner that says “Happy Halloween!”

Summer Card Camp Intro:

I did it. I signed up for Summer Card Camp. I was hesitant to do it, primarily because, I’m terrible at committing to online classes. Especially classes that require you to do something everyday… but, I really felt like I was missing out on something. Several of my friends are taking the online class… and you know how it is… peer pressure. Yup, peer pressure… they sucked me in!!

Gosh, day one, and we already had an assignment! To create something using the above color scheme…

Because I’m trying to stay committed to this class… you’ll be seeing a lot of iphone quality photos!

I used my Papertrey Ink set Wildflower Garden and card stock. I also used Cosmo Crickets DeLovely paper from Jessica Sprague.

The sparkle you see there… that’s Lindy’s Stamp Gang Cotton Candy. Yummmm… cotton candy!! 🙂 I tied in some orange by adding the bling to the center of the flowers. I wanted to challenge myself to create a card that didn’t require coloring. I won’t lie… I didn’t exactly “whip” this card up, however… I did enjoy the challenge.

I don’t want to overwhelm anyone by posting daily about Card Camp, so, I’m posting daily to Flickr. Once a week, I’ll devote a post to Summer Card Camp. If you’re interested in checking out the photos on Flickr, click HERE.

…timeout turquoise…

FINALLY!! I’m feelin’ so much better! Things are starting to fall into place. We’re getting back into a routine, and things are calming down.

I’ve been in the middle of a make over. For the first time, I’ve been able to create a space all my own! I couldn’t be more excited. And now that it’s nearly done… I can share with you all!

So here it is… my space!

I’m still debating on curtains… do I want them… or don’t I? Also, the pictures between the windows were hung rather high. That’s because I’ll be mounting my computer to the wall. I wish I could make the above photo interactive- but, I can’t. So you’ll just have to suffer through more photos. Darn. 😉 (The walls are painted in “Timeout Turquoise.”)

My mom and brother flew down this past weekend, and we went to the Cowtown Indie Bazaar. Just to give you an idea of how awesome the craft show is, my mom flies down from Michigan just so we can go to the show. 🙂

Photo taken by Erin.

Anyways, I found a lot of amazing things to help complete my space, and I want to make sure I give credit where credit is due.

The chalkboard (between the bookcases) was purchased from Aislinn Creations. It was white when I got it, so I painted it a lighter blue, and sanded it down a little to give it a distressed look.

The blanket below was purchased from Linda Childs of childsPLAYdesign. (I have matching pillows too!!) She is an amazing seamstress. This quilt is so thick, and very well put together.

And this photo does not do these paintings justice. They are amazing, and the texture is really nice too. The second I saw them, I knew they would be perfect for my space. I bought these two paintings and my type writer from Danica of Flower Bed Head.

And lastly, I FINALLY have my Accucut in the house and OUT of the garage!! So excited to get back to making mini albums!

In the meantime, I’m getting ready for Mega Meet where I’ll be teaching classes for EarthArt International and doing demos at their booth!

Thank you all so much for your support through the move… packing, unpacking, decorating, and redecorating!! It really means a lot!

Now, with out further ado, my project! (You can click on the photos to see the detail better.)

This was very simple. First, I picked a stamp. Then I used a piece of foam cut and dry to apply duo to the stamp itself. I then stamped the image on the piece of white cardstock. Once the duo was dry (but sticky) I laid down the Gildenglitz over top of the stamped areas and then used the textured sponge to rub away the Gilding.

Now hop on over to Jan Hennings, and make sure you leave a comment to be entered into the giveaway!

Happy Campers!

I love camping, and I’m so sad I’ll be missing our family reunion AGAIN this year. The drive from Texas to Canada is a long one however. Especially with three children four and under! I think my family will understand!

Anyways, saw this adorable little kit from The Button Farm and had to have it! I know several people who will love this! As I was putting it together last night, I was telling Alex how much I miss camping. Can’t wait until our kids are a little older and would enjoying camping as well. There are a total of five pages, each with two sides, below are just a few of the pages…
