Merry Christmas House Mouse!

DW-WW'13 badge

It is the last and final day of the Dreamweavers and Woodware blog hop. I hope you’ve enjoyed all the inspiration, and discovered some new techniques!

Merry Xmas

For my card today I’ve used the Merry Christmas stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils, and this adorable little House Mouse! I stamped the mouse on acetate using StazOn. Then I used my Lindy’s Stamp Gang products mixed with Crystal Lacquer to give the little mouse some color! I used Glossy White Embossing Paste on his hat, to give him some fluff! I also used the glossy white to emboss the “Merry Christmas.” I covered it in Christmas Red Stickles Dry Glitter to make it pop! Christmas isn’t Christmas with out some glitter, right!? I then outlined the card with my Copic, R46. I love simple finishing touches like that!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my card! Thanks for stopping by!

Dreamweavers and Woodware celebrate Christmas in August!

Welcome to the annual Dreamweaver and Woodware Christmas in August extravaganza week! This is your last stop along the hop, if you’ve come here first, please start at the beginning so you don’t miss out on the amazing projects!

DW-WW'13 badge

Monday through Saturday we will be knocking your Christmas stockings off with fun and inspirational ideas for the upcoming holidays. All that you need to do is hop along each day and leave a comment for the designers. In return, you’ll be entered to randomly win one prize package! Two winners will be chosen, one in the US and one in the UK!

I’m sorry the photos are terrible! I’m so embarrassed to share them. Things have been so hectic with our move to Los Angeles (from Seattle), I’m finding, night time is the only time I have to craft! Anyways, here’s what I’ve created!

snowflakeI know the photo below is blurry, however, it’s the only way I could photograph the glitter on the snowflake! It truly adds just the right ‘pop’!

Snow Flake Detail
Products available in the US:
Snowflakes LJ819
Translucent Embossing Paste
StazOn Jet Black
Aurora Borealis Blue
Great Tape
Cloud Nine

Not all the products I’ve used today can be purchased at Woodware in the UK. HOWEVER, all the products I am recommending as an alternative are products I have used before and DO recommend. It’s difficult living in a RV and storing a large amount of product in a small amount of space!  🙂

Products available at Woodware:
Snowflakes LJ819
Translucent Embossing Paste
StazOn Jet Black
Navajo Sky FX17
Great Tape
Crystal Effectz

I have several video tutorials on YouTube featuring Dreamweaver Stencils and a variety of their Embossing Pastes. Including one showing you how to create the card featured in today’s post.

Seasons Greetings!

I’m getting a jump start on my Christmas cards this year. Is it too soon?

Today I’m using a stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils, LJ897, Rhinestone Wreath.

Seasons Greeings

Season Greetings Detail

To create the paste for the word “Season’s Greetings” I mixed some Translucent Embossing Paste in a jar with some Candy Cane Red Gold Mica Powder. I added a little bit of color at a time until the red was exactly as I wanted.

Here’s a quick video, showing you how I’ve created the card above.

Products used:
Dreamweaver Stencils: Rhinestone Wreath
Dreamweaver Stencils: Translucent Embossing Paste
Lindy’s Stamp Gang: Mica Powder in Candy Cane Red Gold

I wanted to create a card using only a few products. A bit of a challenge I guess you could say. So, I threw six products into a little bucket, and got to work.

This is what I created:

Lindy’s Stamp Gang August Color Challenge

I sprayed Delphinium Turquoise on my page, and rolled over it with paper towel.

Then I stamped a flag from Unity Stamp Co’s on the upper right corner of the page.

Then I stamped the heart, and cut it out. I embossed it with Imperial Crown Purple Gold embossing powder, and sprayed it with Bougainvillea Fuchsia. I cut out another heart and sprayed it with Tiger Lily Red Orange, but embossed it with the same color, Imperial Crown Purple Gold.

I adhered the hearts using my Mini Glue Dots Dispenser and trimmed them so they were flush with the page.

It’s a Stampendous and Dreamweaver Stencil blog hop…

Welcome to the Stampendous and Dreamweaver Stencils blog hop! If you’ve arrived from Louise‘s blog, then you’re in the right spot!

DW-STM banner 7-13

We’re having a Stampendous blog hop today! The design team from Dreamweaver Stencils and Stampendous have teamed up to bring you a fun collaboration from July 29th-August 2nd! As you may have guessed our projects will feature a mix of Stampendous products and products from Dreamweaver Stencil.

For my first card I created something a little darker than usual. In fact, it’s so dark I struggled to get a good picture of it! I loved the detail in the embossing powder, which I used on top of the Embossing Paste.

Brown Card hexagon stampendous dreamweaver stencils

I’m really happy with the way the card turned out. I’m not sure which occasion I’ll use the card for, so I haven’t stamped a sentiment yet, but, I did use the Encrusted Jewel Kit on the flag. Once I’ve decided on a sentiment, I’ll use Staz-On to stamp it on the flag.

Products used:
Dreamweaver Stencils: Translucent Embossing Paste
Dreamweaver Stencils: LJ 806 Hexagons
Stampendous: Encrusted Jewel Bronze
Glue Dots: Mini Dispenser

I’ll be back with another card, and video tutorial on August 2nd!

CAS Butterfly Card: Going Places.

I love color. There are so many things about it that make me completely happy- especially bright colors.  So I have a quick pictorial for you today… with lots of color! Links for all products will be at the very end.

20130717-172131.jpg

Step 1) Lay some color on a piece of watercolor paper. I used Neocolor II crayons to do this, and since I knew what stencil I was going to use, I cheated a bit, and added color accordingly.

20130717-172138.jpg

Step 2) Once the color is as you’d like it, get out your water brush and make the crayon lines disappear! The less water the better, you don’t want to over saturate your paper.

20130717-172148.jpg

Step 3) Position the stencil on the color you’ve put down and adhere it using removable tape- anything else could rip your paper.

20130717-172155.jpg
Step 3.5) Apply translucent embossing paste over butterfly stencil.

20130717-172203.jpg

Step 4) While the paste is still wet, apply embossing powder. Then heat set the powder. You may notice it’s still cloudy- remember, that’s because the paste is still wet. It will take a little while to dry, depending on how much paste you’ve used.

20130717-172209.jpg

Step 5) Cut out the butterfly when it’s completely dry. If you like the look of the butterfly in step 4, you can use white embossing paste instead of translucent.

20130717-172216.jpg

Step 6) Apply continuous glue lines to the body of the butterfly, and mini glue dots to each corner. Then adhere to the card, scrapbook page, etc.

20130717-172224.jpg

The card: I stamped the sentiment, going places, and the squiggle with VersaFine then heat embossed it with Angel Wings Gold embossing powder. I love the raised effect, and the slight shimmer on both the butterfly and sentiment that really make them pop, not to mention the dimension of the butterfly!
